What is CAPACITY BUILDING SUPPORTS funding?

Capacity building supports funding is to use towards working on:
  1. Long-term goals
  2. Building independence

Budget support categories in Core:

The funding is flexibly only WITHIN that category. You can't combine funding across each budget or move between these categories.

These budget categories include:
  1. Category 7 - Support Coordination & Recovery Coaching
  2. Category 8 - Improved Living Arrangements
  3. Category 9 - Increased Social & Community Participation
  4. Category 10 - Finding & Keeping a Job
  5. Category 11 - Improved Relationships/Relationships
  6. Category 12 - Improved Health & Wellbeing
  7. Category 13 - Improved Learning
  8. Category 14 - Improved Life Choices
  9. Category 15 - Improved Daily Living
As of November 2023, the NDIS released added the following categories under the CAPACITY BUILDING budget:
    1. Category 20 (NEW) - Behaviour Supports

    Community groups & classes, camps & vacation activities, in-person or online social groups i.e. Minecraft, PEERS, D&D 
    Finding & Keeping a Job
    Employment-related support, training & assessment that help you find and keep a job, such as School Level Employment Support (SLES) or Disability Employment Support (DES)
    Improved Relationships
    Therapy supports to develop positive behaviours and build skills to learn how to interact with others:
    Specialist Behavioural Intervention
    Behaviour management plan & training
    1:1 skill development or mentoring
    Improved Health & Wellbeing
    Dietitian
    Exercise Physiologist
    Personal training
    Improved Learning
    Assistance for transition through school and further education
    Improved Life Choices
    NDIS Plan Management Support - Paying invoices, making claims and auditing
    Improved Daily Living
    Allied Health Therapy - Occupational therapy, Speech therapy & Physiotherapy
    Psychology
    Counselling
    Dietitian (over 7 years)
    Exercise Physiologist (over 7 years)
    Early Childhood Therapy supports
    Play, Art, Sand or Animal therapy
    1:1 mentoring & skill development
