What is Behaviour Suppports funding?

  • Intensive behaviour intervention - for older participants (with plans that started before Nov 2023) - this will still be funded under 'Improved Relationships' until your current plan is renewed.
  • Specialist behaviour and intervention supports (for harmful or persistent behaviours of concern and use of restrictive practices where necessary) - for older participants (with plans that started before Nov 2023) - this will still be funded under 'Improved Relationships' until your current plan is renewed.

Supports the NDIA don't fund

  • Mental health supports unrelated to behaviour support
  • Behavioural supports from unregistered providers (must follow the NDIS Positive Behaviour Support Framework)

How much does this support cost?
The NDIS will allocate funding for a specific number of hours for these supports following your planning meeting if these supports are determined to be reasonable & necessary

The NDIS Price guide has set a maximum rate that they will pay for the supports as follows:

What if I do not have funding for these supports in my plan?
If your plan has not included funding for these supports, and you feel this is reasonable & necessary for your disability needs, you will need to get in touch with your NDIA planner or LAC directly, or call NDIA on 1800 800 110 to discuss a plan review or your options for funding.
