What is Improved Living Arrangements funding?

Improved Living Arrangements (Category 8) funding is the support to help you to find and maintain an appropriate and safe place to live.


This category appears in the NDIA myPlace portal as 'CB Home Living'

Assistance with:

  • Searching for suitable rental properties
  • Ensuring the home/area is suitable for your needs
  • Viewing rental properties
  • Applying for a rental tenancy
  • Meeting obligations of your tenancy agreements
  • Assistance with dealing with your landlord, budgeting/bill management for independent living and managing any issues with your tenancy.


Supports the NDIA don't fund

This category will NOT fund for the cost of the accomodation and general living costs such as rent, utilise, groceries, household items and furniture or any everyday living cost that is not required directly for your disability needs


How much does this support cost?
You can negotiate pricing with your providers to ensure they will charge at OR below the NDIS rate. If supports are charged above the NDIS rate, you will need to cover the difference of cost out of pocket.

What if I do not have funding for these supports in my plan?
If your plan has not included funding for these suppots, and you feel this is reasonable & necessary for your disability needs, you will need to get in touch with your NDIA planner or LAC directly, or call NDIA on 1800 800 110 to discuss a plan review or your options for funding.
