What is Improved Life Choices funding?

How much does this support cost?
If you have requested for your plan to be plan managed the NDIS will allocate funding specifically for the cost of engaging with a plan manager. There is NO out of pocket cost to you.

The cost of Plan management is fully covered by the NDIS under your plan, and includes a:
  1. One-off set up cost
  2. Monthly fees (for each month of your plan)
The rate of the set up cost and monthly fee depends on whether you are located in a national, rural or remote location (this is determine by the NDIS)

How does this appear in my plan?

Funding for plan management will be allocated under Capacity Building, Category 14 -Improved Life Choices (CB Choice & Control), and this is how it appears in your plan

Note: The amount available in your Plan Management - Monthly Fee depends on how long your plan period is and location. I.e. 12 months x $104.45 = $1253.40

What happens if I change plan managers?

If you choose to change plan managers during your plan period, the new plan manager will not receive an establishment/set-up fee, however your current plan manager will release all the remaining monthly fees for your new plan manager to claim.

What if I do not have funding for these supports in my plan?
If your plan has not included funding for these supports, you can request plan management funding at any stage of your plan - see our resource: 'How do I Plan Management in my plan?' for more info
